Instrument Rentals
Instruments may be rented from the school for $60.00 per school year, plus one half of the cost of any repairs to the instrument. Another option is renting an instrument from a music store, which can be a good deal, as renting-to-own is always an option.
Fifth grade students who are interested in playing percussion will be required to rent or purchase bell kits.
Method Books
Method books are required for students to participate in band--we use Essential Elements. If you plan to rent an instrument from West Music, this book should automatically be added to your order. If you will be renting from the school or if you have your own instrument, you will need to purchase a book separately.
Clarinet & Saxophone Players
Reeds for your instruments are available in my office, but I would like for you to take advantage of buying your own box of reeds. They usually come in boxes of ten and are much cheaper when purchased that way. Plus, you always have extras in your case and don't have to wait all weekend if you find yourself needing an unchipped reed while practicing at home!
